The team International Applications is located mainly in Maastricht. The International Applications team develops, improves, and supports the local applications which are used outside of the USA.

Senior Business Intelligence Specialist and a Junior Business Intelligence Specialist 

Functie omschrijving

The Business Intelligence Specialist is part of the International Applications team and reports to International Applications Manager. In this role, the Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for working with the International Business Functions: implementing, continuously improving and supporting internationally used reporting and data warehouse administration activities.

Daily support activities
• End-user support for the reporting applications Impromptu and PowerPlay (error resolution and general support questions).
• Design, develop and implement Impromptu catalogs and PowerPlay cubes.
• Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of data loading processes from external data sources in the reporting environment.
• Investigate and correction of data discrepancies between SAP, Impromptu and PowerPlay reports.
• Monitor system performance and execute clean-up and performance optimization activities.
• Maintain and administer Oracle data warehouse environment (users, data security, PL/SQL packages)
• Maintain and administer Cognos environment (security, user administration, server administration)

Month-end support activities
• Load data from external sources (e.g. exchange rates, operational expenses, account receivable data).
• Populate and distribute the reporting cubes.
• Prepare data for data marts.

Projects
• Participate in projects to align the data and reporting environment to business needs (business re-alignment and restructuring).
• Design and execute upgrades, improvements and enhancements of Oracle database and reporting solutions.

Functie-eisen

For both positions:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluent English.
Knowledge of designing relational databases is an advantage.
Knowledge of Financial reporting
(Solid) knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL
(Solid) knowledge of Cognos 7 & 8
Customer Focus
Takes initiative and responsibility
Drives innovation & change
For the senior position:
Project management skills.
End user training experience is an advantage.
